For City staff
Manage activities and participation
Create development activity, keep milestones and updates current, and open a project for public input.
Before you start
A City staff account. Some steps need an administrator, as noted.
Create an activity
- Open Development activity in the staff workspace and choose New activity.
- Under Basics, enter the Title, Summary, Stage and Responsible team.
- Under Location, choose Point location, Boundary mapped or No location.
- Choose Create draft.
The activity stays private until it is published. Link properties with Search properties to link under Related properties.
Milestones and updates
In Milestones and updates, add a Milestone title, Milestone date and Milestone status. Publish a dated update with Update title and Update details; it appears on the record and in followers' notifications.
Development progress
- Open the activity and choose the Progress tab.
- Choose the Current stage, its Condition and the Effective date. Add dates for earlier stages if you know them.
- Write a short Public note. Use Internal note for anything the public should not see.
- Check the preview, then choose Save draft or Publish progress.
The tracker on the activity page and on linked property pages changes only when you publish. Each publish is kept as a new version. A Reason is required to correct a published stage, move a project back, reopen it or mark it as not proceeding. If nothing has changed, use Confirm no change so the public can see the record is current.
Admins can change the wording of each stage, in English and Spanish, under Edit stage wording. Stage order cannot be changed.
Open for public input
Under Engagement, set Accepting input, describe What input is needed, and set Open until. The opportunity then appears on Participate and on the activity page. Submissions arrive in the public input inbox.
